Legal Expenses Scheme
Providing FREE legal expenses cover for members of the NSCCI Chamber of Commerce.
We have teamed up with Composite Legal Expenses to provide a policy which removes your litigation risk and provides your business with essential and immediate legal expenses protection and advice. Please note this policy is included as part of your membership. Enhanced cover is available, see below.
The scheme provides insurance cover of up to £65,000 per annum, per head of cover, with an excess of £1,000 for the following:-
- Employment disputes
- Employment awards
- Criminal proceedings - both your business and your employers
- Business motoring for four vehicles including:-
- Jury service and attendance allowances (max £1000)
- Licence protection
- Data protection
- Property legal protection
- Disputes with landlords
- Tax, VAT, PAYE and NIC investigations including Schedule D and corporation tax investigations
- 24 hour claims line
- - injuries
- motoring prosecutions
- motoring contractual disputes
- fault and non fault car hire replacement
- repatriation of vehicle and passengers if car immobilised by accident

Employee Consumer Disputes
All employees of member companies also have access to legal consumer disputes cover of £1,000 per employee per annum. This valuable insurance will assist employees who are in dispute with companies or individuals from whom they have purchased goods or services that have subsequently proved to be defective or faulty. Typical examples would be a badly fitted kitchen or faulty electrical goods. The benefit will pay up to £1,000 of legal costs to obtain compensation or restitution for the employee.
There is already provision within the policy for member employees to pursue personal injury claims and now this benefit has been extended to include family members of employees. There will not be a charge for this service and nothing will be taken from any compensation achieved, win or lose and fellow solicitor members will also deal with your claim.
Enhanced Cover
For a small premium you can trade up your existing member benefit to include the following additional benefits:
- £65,000 limit increased to £100,000
- Contractual disputes
- Debt recovery
- Breaches of restrictive covenants
- Your excess waived
