This programme is designed to provide delegates with the fundamental skills essential for success in the modern corporate world. A highly intense programme, it provides a practical action-oriented foundation in the skills needed for effective management.

Urgency versus importance when prioritising
How to evaluate options and decision making techniques

Day 3
Monitoring Performance & Managing Change
The manger’s responsibility in managing individual and team performance and meeting objectives
The relevance of SMART objectives and how to set them
The importance of effective feedback
Preparing for the performance evaluation
Techniques for performance monitoring and evaluation
The principles of change management
Methods of planning for change
Use of Gantt charts in planning the change process
Use of Hanlon’s Paradox to ensure the individual self-esteem
The importance of communication and involvement
Day 4
Collecting and Managing Information
How to get the information that matters
Using communication techniques in collecting data including observation, questioning, surveys and research
The use of surveys and questionnaires
The importance of accurate information in the decision making process
Controlling team briefings and managing meeting
Distributing information to relevant parties in the most effective way
Day 5
Delegating, Motivating and Developing People
Concepts of delegation and empowerment
Supports mechanisms essential for delegation
Techniques for monitoring outcomes of delegation
What motivates and de-motivates individuals and how to use this information to ensure a management win : win situation
Using feedback techniques to aid motivation
The range of learning styles and how to select the optimum style for individuals
You as trainer, mentor and/or coach
Methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training
Day 6
Review and Closure
A half-day review for delegates to feedback and review forward plans.
