Course Objective and outcome
During each session, delegates are asked to apply the learning points to their own company and their planned export project. These are brought together at the end to form the beginnings of a marketing research proposal.

Introductions, delegates' export experience and how delegates believe research can help, their objectives for the course
Selecting a Territory
Introducing a systematic way to prioritise world markets taking into consideration the potential of each market and the skills within the company. Describing both a practical and a scientific approach to solution.
Towards a Strategy
The application of marketing research to the exporting process, the processes in conducting a marketing research project, its benefits and the decisions to be made when approaching a new overseas market
Surfing without Drowning
A systematic way to use the internet to research overseas markets, revealing key websites as starting points for the research.
Case study
A discussion of the steps a company goes through when an opportunity arises in an overseas market; using a proactive approach for achieving a presence in overseas markets.
An overseas visit to research the market
Using a trip to the market to gain an in-depth understanding of the market, giving consideration to how to set up interviews, how many of each type of respondent to speak to, and what to ask of them.
Wrapping it up
A logical explanation for bringing together the information collected during the research into a factual, concise, conclusive and actionable report. Concluding with discussion of where the delegates will go next with their marketing research project.
